Comedy Night

I went out this week to Comedy Night at The Wellness Community in Westlake Village, CA (http://www.twcvv.org).  This is NOT a comedy club.  It is a cancer resource center where I volunteer.  It has many things to offer: group meetings, relaxation technique classes and many other offerings to promote the mind-body connection. But one of the best things it offers is Comedy Night.

This was my first time attending comedy night and it certainly will not be my last.  We had the great pleasure of listening to a great comedian named Jack Mayberry (http://www.jackmayberry.com).  He was SO funny that my sides hurt from laughing.  When he first walked in, I thought he looked familiar, and then it hit me.  He had played ('channeled') Ross Perot many times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and done it brilliantly!  But he is certainly not resting on those laurels. His stories were so well told and now that I have exhausted all his youtube clips, I am going to have to follow him around to see him wherever I can find him.  Truly a good laugh.  And how generous of him to give of his time. 

Laughter truly is the best medicine.  There is nothing like a good joke or a good story to make you forget your troubles or to make you realize how funny even the most common elements are because, as we all know, it really is A Comical Life!!
