We start out, since we can not possibly fill a whole hour with Jillian's story, with a visit with Melissa, the last Bachelorette, who was dumped by Jason in dramatic fashion on TV in front of the world. She is doing just fine, thank you very much, and this is nothing we did not already know thanks to 24-7 news coverage. And Dancing With The Stars.
Kiptyn, the rejected finalist, comes out and Chris replays the turndown. As if that is not humiliating enough, they talk about how tough it was. When Jillian joins them he asks what he could have done differently. She tell him he did nothing wrong. Awww.
Reid, the one who lost before Kiptyn for his inability to commit, came out and got to watch his surprise, last-minute return and proposal all over again. Still sorry he didn't tell her he loved her, he truly though that if he finally said it, she would melt into his arms. He was just sure she'd say yes. Out comes Jill. She is clearly uncomfortable and it was emotional for them both. He asks if he had told her he loved her earlier, would it have mattered? No, says Jillian. She is so sure about Ed. He has more questions for her but decided to use good taste and not ask her about their night in the fantasy suite. Jill, you hussy!! When the audience is asked if they have questions, some skinny young chickie asks Reid if he is dating and would he want to go out with her. Ahhh - television at its most predictable!
Next out - Ed joins Jill. It is a relief to be out in the open with all this, they say. The happy moment of the proposal is replayed, complete with a cut to a crying audience member, then cut back to the happy couple. Plans? Jill is going to Chicago and they will probably marry in the the next twelve months. Then I hope that Jill and Ed will ride off into the sunset with Jill learning how to use her pronouns properly (he vs. him), and live happily ever after. And Chris Harrison, the hardest working man in show business, can now relax. And the next Bachelor is....???
