OH THE DRAMA!!! The group hits the road, leaving the house forever. The girls get on 2 RVs and Jake hope on his bike and up the California coast they go. We are down to 9 girls.
They pull up to a vineyard. Jake has a tent not too far away. Gia gets the 1-on-1 date. Big emphasis on the fact that she is a city girl from NY. So in her spike heels, they go off on the bike. They played hide-and-seek in the vineyard, talked about their mutually geeky youths, play spin the bottle and kiss. Awww. After dark, they go to his tent, have a fire, make hot dogs and 'smores, have a great time and she gets a rose.
The group date card comes and it has all the other names EXCEPT Ella and Kathryn, so they know that on the 2-on-1 date, one of them is going home. There is fretting by all. So up the coast they go to Pismo Beach where the group plays on the sand, rides dune buggies - Ali calls shotgun and gets to ride with Jake, Corrie and Ashleigh ride together, Jessie and Vienna get stuck on a dune. Then there is sand surfing and everyone gets dirty. Jake really enjoys time with Tenley. Wine and fruit at dusk where Jake suggests rolling down the hill and only Corrie goes so she gets him alone. Then off to a charming inn where they girls clean up beautifully and meet Jake for dinner. Ashlegh gets alone time and there is no chemistry. Jake asks Vienna next, but she say that she wasnts to go last! So Ali goes next, then Tenley, who Jake wasnts to make sure is over her ex-husband. Cut to Vienna who NOBODY likes. Jake knows this, tells her she might be causing the problem herself. These girls dislike her intensely and all want Jake to know. At this point, I can't even remember why!! She is kind of obnoxious, but the biggest flaw in my eyes is that her hair is totally the wrong shade of blonde for her complexion. So when Jake tells her this, she changes the subject and Jake has concerns. The rose goes to Tenley. THe whole group date was exhausting.
On the road again to Big Sur. Ella and Kathryn are nervous - they know one is leaving. THey are both well-liked so the others are a bit worried - why not Vienna??? Jake, ELla and Kathryn have dinner. Kathryn is feeling uncomfortable, Ella is pleading her case in a lovely manner. They are both honest with him when they are alone. He takes Ella aside and tells her how wonderful she is - great woman, great mother, lovely, the whole package, BUT he feels more for others there and so GOODBYE, Then he comes back and OMG - he lets Kathryn go to. THE DRAMA!! The girls at the RV campsite watcha man come and take Ella's bags. Then a man takes Kathryn's bag and they are stunned. Cut to Jake looking weepy. He gave the rose to no one and he threw it into the fire. OH THE DRAMA!!
The rose ceremony is held at a beautiful mansion. Jake says that he vowed if someone was not right, he would not keep them. Jake and Corrie talk, she opens up and he is glad. Ali tells Jake she is falling for him and he likes that they feel so good together. Jessie tells Jake that Vienna is not right for him. Vienna is worried about what the other girls said. Enter Chris Harrison!! Gia and Tenley have roses. 5 girls, 4 roses to go. He calls Ali, then Corrie. he picks up the next rose, gets teary, asks for Chris, they talk: Do I HAVE to give out those last 2 roses? So Chris takes one rose away, to the horror of the 3 girls left - Vienna, Ashleigh and Jessie. Chris tells the girl that Jake is serious about his goal of finding a wife. "Ladies, Jake, this is NOW the final rose of the night." and the rose goes to....VIENNA. WTF??? I throw a slipper at the TV. I want to shoot Jake. Ali is angry and sus it up by whispering to the others. "If that's what he wants, I am NOT what he wants." I don't get it. But then again - it will bring me back next week. OH THE DRAMA!!
