Dancing with the Stars - week 8

Two dances for each team, two hours.  Any snoring you hear may be mine! Staying awake that long - that’s alot to ask.  SO first there is a ballroom dance, and then there is a Latin dance with details from a specific decade.  Confused yet?

Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl start out with a Tango.  It looked good but why couldn’t he look her in the eyes more? His feet are fast.  The judges thought it needed more refinement but liked the intensity. Scores: 7-7-7=21.

Niecy Nash and Louie do a Viennese Waltz.  Her arms were flailing a lot as she crossed the floor alone, but they were okay together - she’s just a little bit clunky.  The judges enjoyed it but had suggestions and they all noticed the arms.  Judges: 7-8-8=223.

Erin Andrews and Maks performed an Argentine Tango. It was hot hot hot. If there were flaws, I couldn’t see them because of the steam coming out of my eyes. There were jumps and bends and - WOW!  The judges loved it and called here a dirty, dirty girl!  Scores: 9-10-9=28.

Evan Lysacek and Anna a Waltz.  His long arms and legs are great for this. It was pretty except for one spin where I thought he was going to fall over as he went to spin her around.  The judges love his lines but he needs to lose himself in the dances and get into it. Scores: 9-9-9=27.

Nicole Scherzinger and Derek did the Fox Trot. It was so much FUN.  They told a story and it was fun and funny and no missteps - it was precise and it sparkled.  It was SO creative and joyous.  The judges loved it.  Scores: 10-9-10=29.

So now the Latin dances capturing the mood of a certain decade.

A 1960’s-style Jive for Chad and Cheryl. He was all pimped out and the were all over the floor.  It thought it was fun.  Scores: 8-8-8=24.

A 1990’s Paso Doble.  So a Saturday Night Paso - hmm.  Under the disco ball.  It’s such a definite dance that it doesn’t really lend itself to anything except what it is.  The judges  though she lacked control. Scores: 7-6-7=20.

An ’80’s Rumba for Erin and Maks.  Other than the clothes, it was a true rumba.   I don’t like that dance - it’s all poses and I don’t get it.  The judges think she doubts herself too much.  Judges: 8-8-9=25.

It’s a futuristic Cha Cha for Evan and Anna.  So they got all robot-ty.  Cool makeup and outfits.  They did a great job on the great choreography.  Judge Bruno said it was Mr. Spock meets Barbarella in Cha-Cha-Trek.  Scores: 9-8-9-=26.

A 50’s Paso Doble?? How in the world do you turn a bullfight into something of the 50s? Well they did it!! In moments of standing still, he had Elvis posture and she looked fantastic.  That guy is so creative.  The judges loved it.  Scores: 10-10-10+30.  I am EXHAUSTED!!
