Born into a great Italian family in Stamford, Connecticut, in 1952, I
have had some really funny things happen along the way. They may not
have started out that way, but somehow, as I am sure many of you have
experienced, they became hysterical...or maybe I did.
I am the
mother of 3 daughters (we used to call our home "The House of
Hormones") who are my dearest friends... NOW! I married at 24, and
began moving around the US due to the Spousal Unit's job transfers.
This took us from Stamford to Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, Memphis, TN,
West Milford, NJ, Monroe, CT, Ann Arbor, MI, and now to the Los
Angeles, CA, area, over a period of 29 years.
The last move
happened right after the sad deaths of both of my in-laws within 32
days of each other, Spousal Unit's hip replacement AND his promise NOT
to take the job. It coincided with menopause and empty-nest-syndrome,
and, long story short, resulted in my impending divorce after 32 years
of marriage.
Wallow in self-pity?? YES, I DID. Sit on a chair
I nicknamed The Black Hole with only my best friends named Regis,
Kelly, and my friends on The View - Barbara, Joy, Whoopi, Elizabeth and Sherri - for company??? YES,
I DID. Wonder if I was nuts? YES, I DID. For 14 straight months, But
I snapped out of it and made the best of it and started laughing
again. SO come on with me and have a laugh at a comical life!
